Periodontal disease affects over half of the American population and starts with mild inflammation and occasional bleeding. If left untreated, it can progress to a severe form, attacking the bone and causing irreversible damage, ultimately resulting in tooth loss.
Unlike other dental issues, chronic periodontal disease may not cause pain, making it difficult to identify.
The popularity of laser therapy in dentistry has been increasing among both periodontists and patients. Medical professionals have been using lasers to treat various conditions for many years, and they were introduced in dentistry to address some of the limitations of traditional dental procedures.
Dental laser therapy involves using a concentrated beam of light energy to target specific areas of dental tissue for a range of periodontal procedures.
Dental implants are a natural-feeling solution for missing teeth, using a titanium post or screw placed into the jawbone as the missing tooth root. An artificial tooth (known as a crown) is then placed on top of the implant, securely anchored to feel just like a natural tooth.
With their natural look and feel, implants are the preferred choice for filling missing spaces, as recommended by both periodontists and patients alike.
Dental bone grafts restore volume and density to areas of the jaw with bone loss. Dental bone grafts are a reliable solution for restoring lost jawbone and providing a stable foundation for implants and other restorative options.
Gum tissue protects teeth from harmful substances like bacteria and plaque. Gum recession weakens this defense and makes teeth vulnerable to damage. If the recession is minimal, modifying home care may help. If it exceeds 2mm, Gum Tissue Grafting is needed.
Crown lengthening is a surgical procedure that adjusts the gum position around a tooth to reveal more of its structure. It’s required when a tooth has decay, is broken below the gum line, or lacks sufficient height for restoration procedures like a crown or bridge.
